I really wanted an online paralegal program, but Kaplan just did not do the job very well. I have since left and found another online school I like much better. It has better classes and lower tuition.

I had advisors switched on me the whole time. I never did find out any info regarding graduation till it was too late to attend or order a tassel and cap for suvineer. I don't like the 10 week platform that they recently switched too. The professors weren't very knowledgeable in the IT aspects. A lot of technical problems also. Projects were very hard to understand because of minimal information. Professors, 95% of the time could not help me with my problems. THis last term has been the worst. I didn't have an academic advisor, professor in one class skipped out on this lst couple weeks. I am switching to Devry online in hopes of a better experience and the reputation. No one ever knows what Kaplan is when I tell them I earned my AASCS degree with them.

I have had a great experience at Kaplan University. I have not experienced any problems with academic advisors that the other poster talked about. I have had the same advisor thoughout. I will say this, this is a real accredited school and it requires a lot of commitment to succeed and graduate from Kaplan. Online education require a lot of time, so be prepared to work hard. The positive is that you will feel even better when you accomplish your goals. These are not easy degrees to obtain, so be prepared.

financial aid department was all screwed up, they never called back even lost paper work, I kept sending them over and over and it never got to the right person.

The financial aid was seriously lacking... I had to inform them of scholarships and Pell Grant criteria! You need to be very commited, about 25 hrs per week, hard to do when there is little support from Faculty!

I transfered from another online institution in hopes of a more productive education. However, the supposedly smooth transitions was hectic. First, Kaplan required all this information for me to get from my school. I was not sure why they could not call and get this information. However, I was able to work hard and get the information to them. Finally, when I got a copy of my transcripts, my associates degree, and financial aid paperwork to them. I could finally start classes. Within the second week, I was told my Financial Aid was never sent. I argued because I have the fax sheet, and emails stating they received the information. Fourth week in class, I find out that my GI bill was not setup, but nobody bothered to tell me that they would not handle this. Finally, 1 week before I ended my first classes, I was told that my transcript was not correct because it doesn't show I have an Associates Degree. Granted I faxed a copy of my Degree...that wasn't enough. Once again, they require me to do all the leg work. Now, I'm currently working a full time job, have a family, and doing school assignments. They want me to do all this work for them. I have been in contact with my Admissions Advisor and Academic Councelor. Even though both have been very friendly, neither one seemed to be able to do anything, and therefore, I was the one responsible to do everything. Why where they even there? I recommend looking for a different institution. Do not waste your time or money.

I love Kaplan. My advisors seem to really care about me. Teacher responsiveness is quick. The curriculum is difficult enough that I am learning alot but not too difficult that I want to pull my hair out. I really recommend Kaplan for any working single parent. I can fit it in my schedule and still tend to my life.

I was a Kaplan faculty member is the School of Graduate Education in 2009-2010. Kaplan is nothing but a diploma mill. The assignment rubrics allow students to write poor assignments and still receive passing grades. My department chair was non-responsive to my comments did not care that many Kaplan students were totally unprepared for graduate study.

I have just finished my first term and it was excellent. The professors and advisor's care about you and your educational needs. My professors call me weekly. This is a great online school for the working parent the work is hard so if you are looking to skate through college go else where. I would recommend this online program to anyone serious about education. I have noticed the negitive review posters have trouble spelling simple words so maybe they are not ready for any college atmosphere. As for problems with the online aspect anything online is subject to problems how ever Kaplan has a decent tech support area. I had some problems with the financial aid dept. but all has been worked out you just have to talk to the same person from start to finish and they will accomidate you on this. My only problem is with the books as the cost is part of the tuition and half the books are e-books i am going to have to discuss the overall cost of the materials with someone. As for the complainers about having to get required material needed to enroll you should have already had this in hand before applying. As for their accreditation anyone i have discussed a career with recognizes Kaplan and their degree's even internationally as i am studying International Law which i will have to complete 2 years at Columbia for my Jurist Doctorate and this has already been set up so i can attend their online course upon completion of my BA. in 2014

They changed the portal and they are too expensive. They suck as an online school. All they care about getting your money. Stay away!

There is no individual financial aid adviser assign to each student. When you call about your FA it is nothing but a headache because you get a different person and anybody who works there is accessing your financial aid records... It is always a state of confusing and Kaplan the aid department made costly mistakes with my finances...

This school is a straight up rip off, and any statements to the contrary are a joke.

The instructors were ok, but the verification process for the financial aid has been a never ending enigma, and this is despite the fact that I dropped out over 4 months ago.

I would like to warn any student who is considering KU online to steer clear of this college, and to look into a non/ not for profit school. KU's tuition to education ratio is very weak, and they have a substandard retention/ graduation rate. DON'T get ripped off by this poser school!!!

Odd questions, here. One would excpet literate, computer savvy folk who are college bound to be a bit more sophisticated. Don't go to any college. You lack the mental mass to succeed. Become a Wal Mart greeter.

I graduated, had about 57 grand in debt. But I knew that going in. what's the srusripe? Been a year since I graduated and I'm still applying for my dream job. Though meantime I work two part time jobs (that don't require anything but a GED) and making decent money. My friends say I shouldn't? lower my standards fuck that, I've started to make payments on my loans and don't live with my parents I'll get my dream job when I get it.
